Notifications tell you when someone needs you: a mention, a task assigned to you, a deal that's closed, a proposal that's been signed. You always get them in the app, and you choose which ones also reach your inbox.
Open the actions sidebar on the right (⌘J, or Ctrl+J on Windows).
Select Notifications. A dot on the button means you have something unread.
Switch between the Unread and Read tabs.
Select a notification to open whatever it's about, such as the task, doc, deal or chat conversation.
When a notification arrives while you're in the app, it also pops up in the bottom-right corner. Select Open to go straight to it.
Select Mark as read (or Mark as unread) on a single notification.
Select Mark all as read at the top of the panel to clear the lot.
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Manage account.
Open Preferences, then the Notifications tab.
Under Email frequency, choose:
Each notification: as they happen. A burst in quick succession arrives as one email a couple of minutes later.
Daily summary: one email each morning.
Weekly summary: one email each Monday morning.
Turn each type of email on or off. Your changes save straight away.
Setting | Emails you when |
|---|---|
Mentions | Someone @mentions you in a document or task |
Assignments | A task is assigned to or unassigned from you |
Task reminders | A task assigned to you is due today or overdue |
Project & milestone reminders | A project you lead or belong to, or a milestone you lead, is due today or overdue |
Chat | Someone @mentions you in chat, or replies to a thread you're part of |
Deal activity | Someone else moves your deal to Won, Lost or On hold, or a contact signs one of your proposals |
Mission Control | The quarter's moments: monthly check-ins, the review opening, your weekly pulse, a reflection still owed, and a Mission reaching its number |
Every email has a link to update these preferences.
When a repeating task creates its next occurrence, we let you know. To stop these, turn off Repeating tasks on the same tab. This is the one setting that turns off a notification in the app as well as by email.
Notifications belong to an organisation. You see the ones for the organisation you're in, so switch organisation to see another's.
Some notifications only appear in the app: being added to a project, a task you're waiting on becoming unblocked, being made a Mission's Captain or contributor, and someone joining your organisation.
If you read a notification in the app before its email goes, we don't send the email.
Daily and weekly summaries arrive at 8am in your organisation's timezone. Task reminders are worked out overnight.
Notifications clear themselves after 30 days. Links in older emails still work.
If the thing a notification points to is deleted, the notification goes too.
