Your contacts are yours to take anywhere. Export them as a CSV that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or that another tool can import.
Before you start
You need to be an owner, admin or manager to export. Members can see contacts but can't download them.
Export a list
- Go to Contacts.
- Open the menu next to New contact and choose Export as CSV.
- Choose what to export:
- Contacts in view (or People in view, or Companies in view): the tab you're on, with your current filters applied.
- All people: every person, ignoring filters.
- All companies: every company, ignoring filters.
- Relationships: who works at which company.
A notice shows progress, and the file downloads when it's ready.
In the list, tick the contacts you want.
Choose the List options button, then Actions > Export as CSV.
What's in the file
Every contact file starts with Id and External id, then:
- People: Title, First name, Last name, Email, Phone, Date of birth and address.
- Companies: Company name, Email, Phone and address.
- Both: Lifecycle, Source, Assigned to, Marketing opt-in, Tags, Website, Created by, Created at and Updated at.
A file from the All tab has a Kind column (person or company) and a Name column, plus the name fields for both kinds.
The relationships file has Person id, Person name, Person email, Company id, Company name, Job role, Work email and Work phone.
Good to know
- Files are named by what they hold and the date, for example
people-2026-09-29.csv.
- Dates are written year first (2026-09-29), so they read the same in every country.
- Tags are separated by semicolons. Marketing opt-in is Yes or No. Assigned to shows the member's name.
- Website holds the contact's first website link. Other web links, such as social profiles, aren't included, and nor are notes or logged activity.
- Keep the Id column if you plan to re-import. 53 Degrees then recognises each row as an existing contact rather than a new one. If you re-import with Fill in anything it's missing, blank fields are filled in, but values that are already there aren't overwritten.
- Nothing is stored in 53 Degrees when you export, and it doesn't count towards your file storage.
