Brain Space is where your ideas go before they become work. Jot one down in a few seconds, keep it private or share it with your team, and when you're ready, turn it into a task, a project or a Mission. Ideas you'll never get to can be eliminated.
Choose Brain Space in the sidebar, or Create new → Brain dump from anywhere.
Type the idea's title. Add a description underneath if you like.
To attach a picture, such as a sketch or a screenshot, choose Add image. Each idea can have one image.
Your idea starts as Private, so only you can see it. To share it with your team, turn the switch off so it says Public. You can also drag an image onto the box.
Choose what to do with it:
Save it puts it at the top of your list for later.
Do it or Schedule it turns it into work straight away. See Turn an idea into work.
Choose Do it or Schedule it on an idea's card, or in the composer.
Choose what it becomes: a Task, a Project or a Mission.
Check its name and description. A Mission also needs its Outcome: what will be true once it's done.
If you're a manager, admin or owner, choose who it's for: the person it's Assigned to, the Project lead or the Captain. Otherwise, it's yours.
If you're scheduling it, choose its Start date and Priority. For a Mission, choose where it sits on the roadmap.
Choose Do it or Schedule it.
Do it makes a task or project urgent, starting today, and puts a Mission next in line on the roadmap.
The idea leaves your list. Its image moves to the new task or project. A Mission can't hold files, so the image is deleted.
You only see Project if you can create projects, and Mission if your organisation has a Moonshot whose roadmap you can edit.
To reorder your list, drag a card by its grip.
To share an idea with your team, or make it private again, use the switch on its card.
Each card shows how long the idea has been waiting, such as In Brain Space for 8 days.
Choose Eliminate it on the card, then confirm. The idea and its image are deleted for good.
Choose Team ideas above the list to see everyone's public ideas, newest first. You can act on your own. Owners and admins can also eliminate other people's public ideas.
A private idea's image is hidden from everyone else, including in Files. Once you share the idea, your team can see the image too.
Once an idea becomes work, Reports follows that work to completion. Choose Ideas in Reports to see how long ideas wait and how quickly they get done.
