Docs are rich-text documents your whole team can write in together. Use them for briefs, meeting notes, plans and anything else worth keeping. A doc can reference tasks, projects, contacts and deals as live cards, so it stays up to date as the work moves.
In the actions sidebar on the right, choose Docs. If the sidebar is closed, press ⌘J on Mac or Ctrl+J on Windows.
Choose + (New document). A blank doc opens.
Give it a title where it says Untitled, then start writing.
There's no Save button. The doc saves as you type, and shows Saving… then Saved at the top.
If you're on a project, contact or deal when you create the doc, it's linked to that record and shows on its tab in the Docs panel.
You can also create a doc from a chat message (see Chat with your team), or from a task's Documents tab (see Tasks).
Press / anywhere in a doc to insert:
Type @ to mention someone, which notifies them. Paste a web address to show a preview card for it.
Under the title you'll see who created the doc and when, a live word count, the records the doc links to, and its tags.
Anyone who can see a doc can edit it, except guests. When other people have it open, their avatars show at the top. Their changes appear as they're saved.
The Docs panel lists your organisation's documents, most recently edited first.
You can also find docs with the command palette. See Search and keyboard shortcuts.
In the Docs panel, tick the docs you want.
Choose List options, then Actions.
Choose Add tag, Remove tag or Delete.
Open the doc.
Choose the delete button at the top, then confirm.
Deleting is permanent and can't be undone.
Owners and admins can manage the tags available on docs.
Open the organisation menu at the top of the sidebar and choose Manage organisation.
Under Settings, choose Docs.
On the Tags tab, add, rename or remove tags.
See Tags for more.
