The Answers tab sums up everything people have sent to a form, so you can see what they're telling you without opening each response.
You see a form's answers if you can see the form: owners and admins see every form's, and everyone else sees the forms they created or were added to. Guests can't. See Who can see a form.
Choose Forms in the sidebar, then the form.
Choose Answers, beside Build, Settings and Automations.
The top shows how many responses the form has had. Under it is a card for each question, in the order the form asks them. On a form with several steps, the questions sit under each step's title, or "Step 1", "Step 2" and so on for a step without one.
Each card names the question and its type, and says how many people answered it and how many skipped it.
Question | What the card shows |
|---|---|
Single choice, Dropdown | A doughnut and a bar for each option, with how many chose it and what share of the people who answered that is |
Multiple choice | A bar for each option. People can choose several, so the shares can add up to more than 100% |
Tick box, Switch | How many said yes and how many said no |
Rating | A bar for each rating, from the lowest to the highest, and the average |
Number | A bar for each answer, or for ranges of answers when there are many, and the average |
Country | A bar for each country chosen, most chosen first |
Text, Long text, Email, Phone, Link, Address | The latest answers, newest first |
File upload | How many files were sent and by how many people, and the latest, by name |
An option you've since taken off the form still shows if someone chose it, marked "no longer on the form".
A card for a written question lists the five latest answers. Choose Show more to see more, ten at a time. A long answer is cut short.
Select an answer to open its response in the inbox, with the whole answer and everything else that person sent. See Manage responses in the inbox.
The counts update as responses arrive, are unlocked or are deleted.
Locked responses aren't counted. When your plan is holding some back, a note at the top says how many, and they're counted once they unlock. See Manage responses in the inbox.
A form whose responses are hidden from the inbox still shows its answers here. Its answers don't open a response, because the inbox doesn't show them. See Hide a form's responses.
The tab covers every response the form has had so far. It doesn't filter by date yet.
A question shows its answers as it's set up now, so renaming an option renames it here too.
A number question with a great many different answers shows its average without a chart.
