If you run the same kind of project again and again, such as a website build or an onboarding, save its structure as a template. A project template keeps its milestones, tasks, subtasks, dependencies and automations. A milestone template keeps one milestone's tasks, so you can drop that chunk of work into any project.
Templates leave out dates, files and assignees. Those belong to the real work.
Owners, admins and managers can create and edit templates. Anyone who can create a project, or add a milestone to one, can start from a template.
Open the project and choose Project actions (the menu beside the name).
Choose Create template.
Under Save as, choose A new template, or Replace an existing template and pick which one.
Give it a Template name and, if you like, a description.
Choose Create template (or Replace template).
Open the project's Milestones tab.
Open the milestone's menu and choose Save as template.
Name it, then choose Create template.
Choose Projects in the sidebar, then New project.
Choose Use a template.
Pick the template (you can search them), then choose Continue. If there's only 1 template, it's picked for you.
Fill in the project's details and choose Create project.
The new project starts with the template's milestones, tasks and automations. Add dates and assign people as you go.
On a project's Milestones tab, choose New milestone.
Choose Use a template, pick one, and choose Continue.
Check the details and choose Create milestone.
Choose Projects in the sidebar, then Templates. You'll see two tabs: Projects and Milestones.
In the editor, choose Add milestone or Add task. A template task has a Title, description, Priority, Estimate (minutes) and Tags, and can have subtasks and dependencies. Choose All templates to go back.
