A template is a newsletter layout you keep to use again: a subject line, preview text and the email itself. Start each newsletter from one and you only change what's new.
Templates are part of the Orbit and Landing plans, with newsletters.
Everyone except guests can see templates. To make, change or delete one, you need to be an owner, admin or manager.
Go to Marketing, then Newsletters, and open the Templates tab.
Choose New template, give it a name and choose Create template.
Add a subject line and preview text if every newsletter from it should start with them.
Lay out the email, the same way you write a newsletter. Merge tags and pictures work here too.
It saves by itself as you go.
Open a draft newsletter.
Choose Save as template.
Give the template a name and choose Save template.
The template takes a copy of the newsletter's subject line, preview text and email. The newsletter stays as it is.
When you choose New newsletter, pick the template under Start from.
Or on the Templates tab, open the menu at the end of a template's row and choose Use template.
The new newsletter is a draft with the template's subject, preview text and email copied in. Change anything you like: it doesn't change the template.
On the Templates tab, open the menu at the end of the template's row:
Edit opens it in the editor.
Rename changes what it's called.
Delete removes it. This can't be undone.
To find a template, type its name in the search box. Sort orders them by name or by when each last changed. To delete several, tick them, choose Actions, then Delete, and choose it again to confirm.
Changing or deleting a template doesn't touch newsletters already started from it. Each one keeps what it copied.
The footer with your postal address and the unsubscribe link isn't part of a template. It's added to every newsletter when it's sent. See Send a newsletter.
You can keep up to 100 templates.
